Solar Hot Water Heater for House

Just when you thought you had heard every way to use the beautiful Florida sunshine, Formosa Gardens has one more for you: solar hot water heaters. By capturing sunlight, we are able to provide hot water at virtually no cost.

So, how does it work?

Well, first the heat goes into an insulated hot water tank, and then passes through an instant gas heater. If the water is already hot, the gas heater does not turn on.

We also have a redundant hot water system that generates heat from our Geo Desuper Heater and uses the excess heat generated by the Geo HVAC to heat up the hot water in the house.

A great thing about solar heating is we can easily reverse the process to cool the house down. First, we compress the refrigerant, and it heats up and expands to instantly cool off. So the hot air becomes cooled off. Normally, that excess heat has no place to go and stays in the garage.
